This Large Outdoor Slatted Suelo Sofa is beautifully constructed from solid wood in Ohio, USA. The length is a full 10' but can be customized as you see fit. This sofas's silhouette is simple, modern, and sleek with comfortable back and seat cushions. The wood frame is suitable for outdoor conditions and finished with a commercial grade exterior finish. Finish options include natural, grey-wash, dark walnut, and ebony. The cushions are upholstered with a fast dry foam and mesh bottom for longevity in outdoor use. 2 bolster pillows are perfectly placed in each arm. The Suelo Collection consists of an arm chair, side chair, bench, daybed, loveseat, ottoman, dining chairs - both arm and side, and multiple orientations of sofas/sectionals for indoor or outdoor use. You can get any Suelo piece in a solid or slatted version. This specific wood species is for outdoor use; other Suelo listings show our indoor options. Fabric is not included in the price of any outdoor piece. COM is required or can be sourced by us for an additional cost.

Designer Inspiration: "The Suelo Collection was inspired by my love for travel. So many places that inspire me have very minimal furniture, often built-in sofas with big comfy cushions, hammocks, raw natural wood, etc. The feel is low-key, simple, and comfortable. The wood isn't refined, it just IS. Functionality always plays into my designs as well, represented here by lower seating for a more intimate talking or lounging environment, and the platform wood extension detail on the sofa, which makes a great little table for your drink or cell phone. I envision this furniture used for indoor/outdoor spaces or any room that needs some comfort or relief. The Suelo line reminds me of your own getaway - it has a natural, cool vibe and doesn't take itself too seriously. I imagine the sofa loaded up with pillows and some music playing in the background, of course." -Gretta Jones

Large Outdoor Tree Stump Side Tables - White - 2621

$ 400.00
Size

Please scroll down to read IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS ABOUT OUR STUMPS before purchase!

Please note, we have upgraded to a more durable outdoor finish with extra UV protection. With the extra durability comes more of a glossier whiter finish. Please refer to photo #2 which shows the true new outdoor finish.

These are handmade from our family to yours! See how we do it here.

Our stumps are now kiln dried! This process helps with major cracking, moisture issues, and bugs!

PLEASE NOTE : These stumps will age naturally, and even more so being outdoors and exposed to the elements. Each is a solid log with its own unique character so we can not guarantee the finish won't fade or discolor as this varies per climate and log.

These Large Outdoor Tree Stump Side Tables in White are made in the heart of Ohio with locally sourced wood. The stump can be used for a side table, a stool, or grouped together for a coffee table. Each stump is made from a solid trunk of red cedar and each is hand sawed, sanded, and sprayed with a durable exterior finish. Every part of the process is handled with care - even the bark is hand chipped and sanded to honor the unique markings of each tree. Note: These are REAL tree stumps. Natural movement and cracking is normal. These are all slightly different in character and they may vary in size - No two pieces are exactly alike. Each size and color can be done in our indoor finish or more durable outdoor finish (exterior finish is slightly glossier and $25 more per stump.) Our team and clients absolutely love these.

"I love natural elements. I'm inspired by them and I love being surrounded by them. I also love modern furniture and accessories. When thinking of new products a few years back, I wanted to do a modern twist on something considered rustic.
Thus the whitewash stump table was born! It's important to our family to not only design and manufacture beautiful things, but to provide the best quality and experience. There is a lot of love that goes into each stump, as we hand pick and finish each one per order. Add a little piece of nature to your home in a modern way!"  -- Gretta Jones // Bertu Home

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT OUR STUMPS...

1. Please unpack your stump immediately and leave it out of any packaging. These are real pieces of wood and need to breathe!

2. For OUTDOOR stumps : Though these are kiln dried and the wood can be used outdoors, sometimes when they arrive in different climates, humidity levels adjust and can affect the finish on top. We see this more often in direct sunlight. We do our very best and continue to make sure there are no issues, but we can not control climate. Solid wood and the elements are unpredictable and we will not be liable. The great thing about these logs is you can always sand them down and refinish.

3. Wood naturally moves. These are solid pieces and for that reason, they are prone to cracking. You may get more cracks or bigger cracks in the first few weeks as the wood acclimates to its new home and climate.

4. These stump tables have nylon glides (feet) underneath not only to make them easier to move around (they are heavy!), but also so there is nice air flow to the wood. The air flow is most effective on hard flooring. If you put these on rugs or carpeting, we suggest checking on the underside of your stump periodically to prevent any issues.

5. We are not liable for any damages to property or people. If you have any concerns or questions you need to discuss, please write or call. We are always available, honest, and transparent about our products. Thank you and I hope you love these!

Why buy BERTU HOME stumps?

KILN DRIED

Our stumps all go through a drying process in our kiln, sometimes for up to a month. We are meticulous with bringing each and every log to a specific moisture level. This process helps with major cracking, long-term moisture issues, and bugs.

ECO FRIENDLY

In an effort to replenish the trees we use, we plant 50+ trees a year. In addition, we practice salvage logging. Where do we source these? Some of the trees fall naturally. Some have damage from severe wind, lightning, flood, disease, or other natural disturbance so they need to be cut and removed before they fall. Others are fresh cut because people want them off their land. Salvage logging may reduce erosion, reduce intensity of future wildfires, and slow buildup of pest insects.

FAMILY OWNED

These are made from our family to yours. Quality is of utmost importance, and we hand cut, de-bark, sand, and finish every piece with care.See how we do it here.

COMMERCIAL GRADE

These stumps are meant to be loved and USED. Each is finished with a durable commercial-grade finish. This finish is tough enough for spills, kids, and holds up in hotel and hospitality settings.

PLEASE NOTE : These stumps will age naturally, and even more so being outdoors and exposed to the elements. Each is a solid log with its own unique character so we can not guarantee the finish won't fade or discolor as this varies per climate and log.

"The U.S. would profit by the example of the Danes, whose great work in furniture design is the result of combining proficient craftsmanship, fine design and technical skill. The Danes do more than sell arts and crafts in their distinguished work, they sell Denmark." - Lawrence Peabody, 1957

about the designer

Lawrence Peabody, an architect, interior designer, and furniture designer, was born in 1924 in Haverhill, MA. Mr. Peabody often preferred the name "Larry" instead of Lawrence although he tended to use the name Lawrence professionally. He was known to be a flaming extrovert and was rarely reserved in his opinions. He had a clear love of design even choosing the Navy because he liked the uniforms. After serving in WWII he was able to take advantage of the GI Bill. This allowed him to study at the Rhode Island School of Design. At RSID he was heavily influenced by Ernst Lichtblau who was part of the Austrian Werbund. At the time there was a heavy Bauhaus influence due to many Europeans who had fled to the US for WWII. After RISD the story goes that he wandered around Europe and ended up taking courses at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. While there he met his wife Bette who he wed in 1952. She was originally from Norway, a bit older and extremely interesting in her own right. She was part of the Danish resistance during the war, helping out as a nurse. She had also studied psychology and was a teacher. During a trip to Haiti, Lawrence became friends with Dewitt Peters, the founder of Haiti's Le Centre d'Art. Together they promoted interest in primitive Haitian art by corresponding with museums overseas. Lawrence bought a beautiful home in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti in which he split his time later in life.
