The Oak Suelo® Sofa with Storage and Side Table is a modern platform sofa, made to order from solid oak in Ohio, USA. Its low, sleek silhouette is simple and organic, with generous back and seat cushions and a wood platform that extends into an integrated side table. Three large drawers sit beneath the seat, each with a cut-out pull, so storage stays out of sight. The cushions on this Suelo® sofa are wider than our normal seat, sitting each at 32" across. The Suelo® Collection consists of an arm chair, side chair, bench, daybed, loveseat, ottoman, dining chairs - both arm and side, and multiple orientations of sofas/sectionals for indoor or outdoor use. You can get any Suelo piece in a solid or slatted version. This specific wood species is for indoor only; please contact for outdoor options. Price includes thick weave fabric and finish of your choice in addition to the whitewash - natural, grey-wash, walnut, and black. Multiple fabric colors available.

Designer Inspiration: "The Suelo® Collection was inspired by my love for travel. So many places that inspire me have very minimal furniture, often built-in sofas with big comfy cushions, hammocks, raw natural wood, etc. The feel is low-key, simple, and comfortable. The wood isn't refined, it just IS. Functionality always plays into my designs as well, represented here by lower seating for a more intimate talking or lounging environment, and the platform wood extension detail on the sofa, which makes a great little table for your drink or cell phone. I envision this furniture used for indoor/outdoor spaces or any room that needs some comfort or relief. The Suelo line reminds me of your own getaway - it has a natural, cool vibe and doesn't take itself too seriously. I imagine the sofa loaded up with pillows and some music playing in the background, of course." -Gretta Jones

Why buy BERTU HOME stumps?

KILN DRIED

Our stumps all go through a drying process in our kiln, sometimes for up to a month. We are meticulous with bringing each and every log to a specific moisture level. This process helps with major cracking, long-term moisture issues, and bugs.

ECO FRIENDLY

In an effort to replenish the trees we use, we plant 50+ trees a year. In addition, we practice salvage logging. Where do we source these? Some of the trees fall naturally. Some have damage from severe wind, lightning, flood, disease, or other natural disturbance so they need to be cut and removed before they fall. Others are fresh cut because people want them off their land. Salvage logging may reduce erosion, reduce intensity of future wildfires, and slow buildup of pest insects.

FAMILY OWNED

These are made from our family to yours. Quality is of utmost importance, and we hand cut, de-bark, sand, and finish every piece with care.See how we do it here.

COMMERCIAL GRADE

These stumps are meant to be loved and USED. Each is finished with a durable commercial-grade finish. This finish is tough enough for spills, kids, and holds up in hotel and hospitality settings.

The Modern Wood Beam Coffee Table is a handcrafted, organic-modern centerpiece — built from solid beams of rough-cut maple, artisan-made by the Bertu Home family in the heart of Ohio. Each beam is hand sawed, sanded, and finished with a durable commercial-grade finish that honors the natural markings of the wood.

This is a true one-of-a-kind work of art. Expect character: the maple is prone to cracking — cracks can run up to 1/2" wide from proper kiln drying — and larger cracks are reinforced with hand-set bowtie inlays. No two tables are exactly alike. It isn't for someone who wants a perfect square; it's for someone who loves natural, sculptural, modern wood furniture.

"These are made from our family to yours. Quality is of utmost importance — we hand cut, de-bark, sand, and finish every piece with care." — Bertu Home

Why Bertu Home:

• Kiln-dried — every beam is dried to a precise moisture level (sometimes up to a month) to minimize long-term cracking, moisture issues, and pests.
• Eco-friendly — we plant 50+ trees a year and practice salvage logging, using wood from trees that have fallen or been removed.
• Commercial-grade — finished to be loved and used; tough enough for spills, kids, and hospitality settings.
• Handcrafted in the USA — family-owned and made to order.

Details: Solid rough-cut maple · Natural commercial-grade finish · Organic modern · L 70" × W 48" × H 16" · Fully customizable sizes available.

Care: Unpack it right away so the wood can breathe. Solid wood naturally moves and may crack further as it acclimates, especially in the first few weeks — this is part of its character.

Shipping: Free white-glove, fully insured, in-home delivery in the continental US — it arrives assembled and placed where you want it. Please allow 8–10 weeks for production. (Possible surcharge to the West Coast.) Contact us for designer/trade pricing.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT OUR STUMPS...

1. Please unpack your stump immediately and leave it out of any packaging. These are real pieces of wood and need to breathe!

2. For OUTDOOR stumps : Though these are kiln dried and the wood can be used outdoors, sometimes when they arrive in different climates, humidity levels adjust and can affect the finish on top. We see this more often in direct sunlight. We do our very best and continue to make sure there are no issues, but we can not control climate. Solid wood and the elements are unpredictable and we will not be liable. The great thing about these logs is you can always sand them down and refinish.

3. Wood naturally moves. These are solid pieces and for that reason, they are prone to cracking. You may get more cracks or bigger cracks in the first few weeks as the wood acclimates to its new home and climate.

4. These stump tables have nylon glides (feet) underneath not only to make them easier to move around (they are heavy!), but also so there is nice air flow to the wood. The air flow is most effective on hard flooring. If you put these on rugs or carpeting, we suggest checking on the underside of your stump periodically to prevent any issues.

5. We are not liable for any damages to property or people. If you have any concerns or questions you need to discuss, please write or call. We are always available, honest, and transparent about our products. Thank you and I hope you love these!

Modern Pedestal Display Stand in White for Bertu Home

These tree stump tables are made in the heart of Ohio with locally sourced wood. The stump can be used for a side table, a stool, or grouped together for a coffee table. Each stump is made from a solid trunk of rough cut maple and each is hand sawed, sanded, and sprayed with a commercial grade finish. Every part of the process is handled with care to honor the unique markings of each tree. PLEASE NOTE: THESE ARE PRONE TO CRACKING. WE LOVE THE LOOK BUT THESE DEFINITELY ARE NOT FOR THE PERSON WHO WANTS A PERFECT SQUARE.... LOTS OF CHARACTER. Cracks can even be as big as 1/2" wide due to proper drying in our kiln. The idea is that most of the cracking happens before it is sprayed, shipped, and in its new home. These are all slightly different in character and they may vary in size - No two pieces are exactly alike. Our team and clients absolutely love these.

"I love natural elements. I'm inspired by them and I love being surrounded by them. I also love modern furniture and accessories. When thinking of new products a few years back, I wanted to do a modern twist on something considered rustic. Thus the whitewash stump table was born! It's important to our family to not only design and manufacture beautiful things, but to provide the best quality and experience. There is a lot of love that goes into each stump, as we hand pick and finish each one per order. Add a little piece of nature to your home in a modern way!" -- Gretta Jones // Bertu Home

The Boca is Bertu Home's turned counter stool — made in the heart of Ohio from two pieces of solid maple that are kiln-dried and then turned on the lathe. The result is a soft, columnar, unmistakably modern form with the warmth of real wood and a clean, hand-shaped line. It is organic modern furniture at its most refined: modern luxury drawn from natural material.

This listing is for the Boca Uno silhouette. Every stool is turned, hand-sanded, and sealed with a durable commercial-grade finish built for real use — a kitchen island, a hospitality bar, or a designer's counter seating. Because maple is a natural material, grain and tone vary from piece to piece, so no two are exactly alike. And because it is solid wood, a Boca may develop natural cracks over time — a hallmark of the material that we embrace rather than hide; when a crack opens, our team hand-sets a bowtie inlay to stabilize it and make it part of the piece's character. Shown in a natural commercial-grade finish; other finishes are available to order.

Looking for the companion shape? The Boca Dos counter stool is available here.

"I love natural elements. I'm inspired by them and I love being surrounded by them. I also love modern furniture and accessories. When thinking of new products a few years back, I wanted to do a modern twist on something considered rustic and 'country.' Thus the whitewash stump table was born! It's important to our family to not only design and manufacture beautiful things, but to provide the best quality and experience. There is a lot of love that goes into each piece, as we hand finish each one per order. Add a little piece of nature to your home in a modern way!" -- Gretta Jones // Bertu Home

Why buy a Bertu Home piece?

KILN DRIED. Every piece of maple goes through a drying process in our kiln, brought to a specific moisture level before it is turned. This helps control long-term moisture movement and keeps the finished stool stable.

FAMILY OWNED. These are made from our family to yours. We dry, turn, sand, and finish every piece with care. See how we work here.

COMMERCIAL GRADE. Each stool is finished with a durable commercial-grade finish tough enough for spills, kids, and daily use, and it holds up in hotel and hospitality settings.

Living with your Boca

1. Unpack your stool right away and leave it out of any packaging — this is real wood and needs to breathe.

2. Solid wood naturally moves. Your Boca may develop cracks as it acclimates to your home's climate; this is normal, and any crack that continues to open is stabilized with a hand-set bowtie inlay. Keep the stool out of prolonged direct sun and away from heat sources to help preserve the finish.

3. Nylon glides underneath make the stool easier to move (they are heavy) and allow airflow to the wood. Airflow is most effective on hard flooring; on rugs or carpet, check the underside periodically.

4. If you ever have a question, please write or call — we are always available, honest, and transparent about our work.

Each stump is made from a solid trunk of rough cut maple and each is hand sawed, sanded, and sprayed with a commercial grade finish. (Other finishes available!) Every part of the process is handled with care to honor the unique markings of each tree.

Quality is of utmost importance, and we hand cut, de-bark, sand, and finish every piece with care. See how we do it here.

COMMERCIAL GRADE

These stumps are meant to be loved and USED. Each is finished with a durable commercial-grade finish. This finish is tough enough for spills, kids, and holds up in hotel and hospitality settings.

The Suelo® line reminds me of your own getaway - it has a natural, cool vibe and doesn't take itself too seriously. I imagine the sofa loaded up with pillows and some music playing in the background, of course." -Gretta Jones
