This modern lounge chair by Lawrence Peabody : Holiday Series for Craft Associates Furniture is expertly hand crafted and upholstered. These Peabody chairs are licensed reintroductions for Craft Associates®. 

Each chair boasts hand cut high-density foam and commercial grade fabric. The chair's frame and base are constructed from hardwood by hand, not machine. The walnut base is then shaped by artisans and finished with a commercial grade finish. This chair is part of the Holiday series that Lawrence Peabody originally designer for Selig manufacturing in the early 1950's.

Lawrence “Larry” Peabody (1924-2002) was an architect, interior designer, and furniture designer. As an American born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, his distinctive design were often influenced by his Scandinavian roots. Lawrence studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Denmark and at the Rhode Island School of Design. His early career with Selig Mfg. Co. was prolific and helped put both himself and Selig on the map for modern furniture. He then started Lawrence Peabody & Associates in 1955, a design firm in Boston which included a vast client list (Sears, Roebuck & Co., Kohler, Regal Rugs, Boyd Lighting, Chapman Lamps, and Richardson Brothers). 

In 1961, Mr. Peabody won a Citation for Merit for his Peabody Collection for Richardson/ Nemschoff. Winner of the 1962 International A.I.D. design award for his wood frame rattan cradle chair, he also received the Walnut Classic Award for outstanding established collection of furniture executed in walnut. Craft Associates® Furniture is honored to have acquired the rights to produce licensed Lawrence Peabody designed furniture.

This Modern Nightstand in White Oak is made in the heart of Ohio with locally sourced wood. Each piece is hand-made with solid white oak and finished with a beautiful matte commercial grade finish. It is important to us to let the natural beauty of the wood shine. We use secondary wood for the drawers (poplar), and each is constructed with dovetail joints. These are used for side and end tables in addition to nightstands and can be customized by adding drawers, adding length, or changing the wood species. We absolutely love this design. These nightstands will add a modern but timeless aesthetic to your home.

Our stumps all go through a drying process in our kiln, sometimes for up to a month. We are meticulous with bringing each and every log to a specific moisture level. This process helps with major cracking, long-term moisture issues, and bugs.

ECO FRIENDLY

In an effort to replenish the trees we use, we plant 50+ trees a year. In addition, we practice salvage logging. Where do we source these? Some of the trees fall naturally. Some have damage from severe wind, lightning, flood, disease, or other natural disturbance so they need to be cut and removed before they fall. Others are fresh cut because people want them off their land. Salvage logging may reduce erosion, reduce intensity of future wildfires, and slow buildup of pest insects.

Modern Platform Bed in Walnut - 1621

This modern platform bed is made in the heart of Ohio with locally sourced wood.  Each is hand-made from solid walnut (or the wood of your choice) and finished with a beautiful commercial grade matte finish. The bed can be built with the platform part only or with a full headboard and floating side tables. Each drawer offers nice storage and cut-outs for cords! This allows for a cord to be plugged in behind the headboard but with the hole hidden by the drawer. Other details include hand-turned cylinder legs and cut-out finger pulls on the drawers with soft close fronts. The simple lines and shape of this bed work well with all aesthetics. These are custom built to accommodate any size bed and price is adjusted per size. Simple yet a stunner! We love this piece.
