This Modern Credenza from the Cali Collection is made in the heart of Ohio with locally sourced wood. Each unit is handmade with solid white pine and finished with a beautiful weathered commercial grade matte finish. The frame is hand welded steel and powder coated in the color of your choice. A white lacquered shelf sits on the two storage units, and a glass inset top adds another shelf up top. (Perfect for a tv if you are using for a media unit!) We just love this one -- it adds the perfect modern industrial flair to your space!

history

Lawrence “Larry” Peabody (1924-2002) was an architect, interior designer, and furniture designer. As an American born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, his distinctive design were often influenced by his Scandinavian roots. Lawrence studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Denmark and at the Rhode Island School of Design. His early career with Selig Mfg. Co. was prolific and helped put both himself and Selig on the map for modern furniture. He then started Lawrence Peabody & Associates in 1955, a design firm in Boston which included a vast client list (Sears, Roebuck & Co., Kohler, Regal Rugs, Boyd Lighting, Chapman Lamps, and Richardson Brothers).

In 1961, Mr. Peabody won a Citation for Merit for his Peabody Collection for Richardson/ Nemschoff. Winner of the 1962 International A.I.D. design award for his wood frame rattan cradle chair, he also received the Walnut Classic Award for outstanding established collection of furniture executed in walnut. Craft Associates® Furniture is honored to have acquired the rights to produce licensed Lawrence Peabody designed furniture.

These Paul McCobb bookcases (Planner Group series) are in good vintage condition with age appropriate wear. The finish is original and does have normal imperfections with age (scratches, dings, etc /pictured). There is light discoloration on the lower side of the bookcases. Overall these bookcases are amazing in person.
