Lawrence “Larry” Peabody (1924-2002) was an architect, interior designer, and furniture designer. As an American born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, his distinctive design were often influenced by his Scandinavian roots. Lawrence studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Denmark and at the Rhode Islan
d School of Design. His early career with Selig Mfg. Co. was prolific and helped put both himself and Selig on the map for modern furniture. He then started Lawrence Peabody & Associates in 1955, a design firm in Boston which included a vast client list (Sears, Roebuck & Co., Kohler, Regal Rugs, Boyd Lighting, Chapman Lamps, and Richardson Brothers).
In 1961, Mr. Peabody won a Citation for Merit for his Peabody Collection for Richardson/ Nemschoff. Winner of the 1962 International A.I.D. design award for his wood frame rattan cradle chair, he also received the Walnut Classic Award for outstanding established collection of furniture executed in walnut. Craft Associates® Furniture is honored to have acquired the rights to produce licensed Lawrence Peabody designed furniture.

Our stumps are now kiln dried! This process helps with major cracking, moisture issues, and bugs!
These tree stump tables are made in the heart of Ohio with locally sourced wood. They can be used for a side table, a stool, or grouped together for a coffee table. Each table is hand-made with a solid trunk of red cedar with a whitewash, espresso/black, or natural commercial grade finish. Note: These are REAL tree stumps. Natural movement and cracking is normal. These are all slightly different in character, variations of size, etc! Our team absolutely loves these - the perfect accessory to any room.
1. Please unpack your stump immediately and leave it out of any packaging. These are real pieces of wood and need to breathe!
2. For OUTDOOR stumps : Though these are kiln dried and the wood can be used outdoors, sometimes when they arrive in different climates, humidity levels adjust and can affect the finish on top. We see this more often in direct sunlight. We do our very best and continue to make sure there are no issues, but we can not control climate. Solid wood and the elements are unpredictable and we will not be liable. The great thing about these logs is you can always sand them down and refinish.
3. Wood naturally moves. These are solid pieces and for that reason, they are prone to cracking. You may get more cracks or bigger cracks in the first few weeks as the wood acclimates to its new home and climate.
4. These stump tables have nylon glides (feet) underneath not only to make them easier to move around (they are heavy!), but also so there is nice air flow to the wood. The air flow is most effective on hard flooring. If you put these on rugs or carpeting, we suggest checking on the underside of your stump periodically to prevent any issues.

Our stumps all go through a drying process in our kiln, sometimes for up to a month. We are meticulous with bringing each and every log to a specific moisture level. This process helps with major cracking, long-term moisture issues, and bugs.

In an effort to replenish the trees we use, we plant 50+ trees a year. In addition, we practice salvage logging. Where do we source these? Some of the trees fall naturally. Some have damage from severe wind, lightning, flood, disease, or other natural disturbance so they need to be cut and removed before they fall. Others are fresh cut because people want them off their land. Salvage logging may reduce erosion, reduce intensity of future wildfires, and slow buildup of pest insects.

This Paul McCobb brass coffee table for Calvin: Irwin Collection is in original vintage condition. The travertine has two chips that are on the back edge, besides these it's in good vintage condition. The brass has imperfections with age, with discoloration throughout the base. The mahogany has a beautiful patina with a small chip on one of the drawers. There is scratching on the shelf under the travertine. We have left this coffee table original outside of lightly cleaning the wood. We love the original character and wanted to leave it untouched. It is a wonderful table that is beautifully proportioned and good looking from every angle.

This rare Ladislav Rado dining set for knoll drake is in very good vintage condition. The iron shows normal wear with age (dings, nicks, imperfections), but is structurally sound. The wood also shows normal wear with age but nothing out of the ordinary for normal use. Overall we feel this set was lovingly cared for throughout its life. This line of furniture was produced for a very short period of time and is beautiful in person.

These stumps are handmade from our family to yours! Our stumps are now kiln dried! This process helps with major cracking, moisture issues, and bugs!
This tree stump table is made in the heart of Ohio with locally sourced wood. They can be used for a side table or a stool. Each table is hand-made with a solid trunk of red cedar with a white-wash finish. Color can be customized! Our team absolutely loves these - the perfect accessory to any room. Note: These are REAL tree stumps. Natural movement and cracking is normal. These are all slightly different in character, variations of size, etc!

1. Please unpack your stump immediately and leave it out of any packaging. These are real pieces of wood and need to breathe!
2. For OUTDOOR stumps : Though these are kiln dried and the wood can be used outdoors, sometimes when they arrive in different climates, humidity levels adjust and can affect the finish on top. We see this more often in direct sunlight. We do our very best and continue to make sure there are no issues, but we can not control climate. Solid wood and the elements are unpredictable and we will not be liable. The great thing about these logs is you can always sand them down and refinish.
3. Wood naturally moves. These are solid pieces and for that reason, they are prone to cracking. You may get more cracks or bigger cracks in the first few weeks as the wood acclimates to its new home and climate.
4. These stump tables have nylon glides (feet) underneath not only to make them easier to move around (they are heavy!), but also so there is nice air flow to the wood. The air flow is most effective on hard flooring. If you put these on rugs or carpeting, we suggest checking on the underside of your stump periodically to prevent any issues.
